KOHLRABI CURRY(KOORA)


Kohlrabi is a kind of turnip called knolkol in tamil and shalgam in telugu. It is rich in fiber and vitamin c. This tastes like cabbage and stem of broccoli or cauliflower. This curry is so easy to make with less ingredients and goes very will with rasam and curd rice too. This vegetable is used in making sambar, Kootu or curries.

Ingredients :

Kohlrabi - 2 chopped to cubes
Coconut - 3 tbsp grated
Chillies - 3
Mustard - 1 tsp
Urad dhal - 2 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Asafoetida - 1 tsp
Coriander leaves for garnishing
oil and salt


Method :

1. Boil the vegetable in microwave or in pressure cooker.
2. Coarsely powder coconut and green chillies.
3. Heat oil in frying pan , season with mustard, urad and curry leaves.
4. Now to this add powdered coconut mixture and asafoetida.
5. Add the boiled vegetables and mix well by adding salt.
6. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with hot pepper rasam and curd rice.

Microwave cooking wow and that too with turnip... Good one I did like the veggie boquet too... First time here nice recipes and shall keep visiting till then...
